After launching its Dating feature in Colombia in September, it’s now rolling the service out to Canada and Thailand. And, presumably based on feedback from its Colombian users, it’s adding a couple of new features. The newest version will allow users to temporarily pause matches, as well as give them the ability to take a “second look” at potential matches they’d previously said no to — a feature that might prove useful as enthusiastic users wait for others in their area to get on board with the app although Facebook has said users in Canada and Thailand won’t be able to match with anyone right away, as it waits for enough people to sign up. The company hasn’t given any details on how many Facebook users in Colombia have used the feature, although product manager Nathan Sharp has said there’s been an “overwhelmingly positive response” so far. Nonetheless, the expansion of Facebook Dating comes at a precarious time for the company, as it continues to face scrutiny for its involvement in the Cambridge Analytica scandal, as well as ongoing investigation into its role in political interference. However, the company wouldn’t roll out the feature further if there was no demand for it, so people are clearly still willing to let Facebook into the most intimate areas of their lives.

Dating advice Dating in the 21st century is pretty bleak. Escape from this planet is mandatory. But for most single people I know life is pretty good. Being on the shelf is only a problem if your shelf is dull. In fact, the older you get, the more interesting your shelf is likely to become and the harder it is to be coaxed off. And we are extending our own shelf-life everyday by staying fitter, healthier and more attractive for longer. Women are no longer crying into their Chardonnay.
Singles are more likely to be playing capoeira; dining at secret supper clubs; running with the Good Gym or digging up their home-grown kale.

But it doesn’t need to be. Interracial relationships are on a steady rise. It’s been less than 50 years since blacks and whites have been able to legally marry, thanks to the Supreme Court , and This brings the share of all interracial or interethnic marriages to a historic high of 8. Growing numbers have come with growing acceptance.
Young people are even more open-minded: But the significance of the change goes beyond simple acceptance. But interracial relationships can actively help make America a more diverse, accepting place. The more visible high-profile interracial couples are, the more normalized they become. Too often, on-screen interracial relationships are limited to the pairing of a white person, usually a male, with a woman of color, ignoring the fact that other constructions do exist.
But the representations we do have can help move the ball forward. Just as negative racial portrayals contribute to negative stereotypes, more positive visibility for cross-race couples in media makes a difference.

Emotional caretakers are caring, concerned, generous, and reliable people. They sincerely want to please others and are generally nice people. Follow TIMEHealth If couples were paying any attention during the past few decades, they should be able to recite the one critical ingredient for a healthy relationship — communication. But the latest study shows that other skills may be almost as important for keeping couples happy. The idea was to rank the skills in order of importance to start building data on which aspects of relationships are most important to keeping them healthy. In addition to communication and conflict resolution, the researchers tested for sex or romance, stress management, life skills, knowledge of partners and self-management to see which ones were the best predictors of relationship satisfaction.
Couples were asked questions that tested their competency in all of these areas and then queried about how satisfied they were with their relationships. Long-Distance Relationships Are Deeper Not surprisingly, those who reported communicating more effectively showed the highest satisfaction with their relationships. But the next two factors — which were also the only other ones with strong links to couple happiness — were knowledge of partner which included everything from knowing their pizza-topping preferences to their hopes and dreams and life skills being able to hold a job, manage money, etc.
Couples counselors, however, rarely address these two areas, as the focus on strengthening relationships has been on improving communication to reduce destructive behavior and to build support and comfort for each other. Even more important, Epstein says, is knowing such critical things as whether your partner wants children. While his study did not separate trivial from such profound knowledge, he says that the two are strongly linked.
